Universalvani ("we," "us," "our") publishes digital books at universalvani.org. This policy explains how we handle personal information for visitors and customers of this site.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only what's needed to deliver your book and support you afterward:
- Checkout details: name, email address, and mobile number, entered by you at checkout.
- Payment information: processed directly by our payment partners (Razorpay and/or Cashfree) — we do not receive or store your card, UPI, or bank credentials ourselves.
- Order records: order ID, payment ID, product purchased, and timestamp, used to verify your purchase and issue your download link.
- Newsletter signups: your email address, if you choose to subscribe, stored until you unsubscribe.
- Contact form submissions: whatever you include when writing to us.
- Basic technical data: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) collected by our hosting provider (Vercel) for security and rate-limiting purposes.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To generate and deliver your personalized, expiring download link.
- To send a backup copy of your book to your email.
- To respond to support requests and refund claims.
- To send newsletter updates, only if you've opted in — you can unsubscribe at any time.
- To prevent abuse (e.g. rate-limiting download requests).
We do not sell your personal information to anyone, ever.
4. Third Parties We Use
- Razorpay / Cashfree — payment processing.
- Vercel — website hosting and serverless functions.
- Upstash — backend data storage (rate limiting, download tracking, newsletter list).
- Resend — transactional and support email delivery.
Each of these providers processes data only as needed to perform their function for us, under their own privacy and security practices.
5. Download Link Security
Your download link is personalized and time-limited (72 hours) and includes a light, traceable watermark identifying your order. This is meant to discourage casual sharing, not to track your reading activity.
6. Your Rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing support@universalvani.org. We'll respond within a reasonable time, consistent with any recordkeeping we're required to retain for financial/tax purposes.
7. Data Retention
We retain order records as required for accounting, tax, and dispute-resolution purposes. Newsletter emails are retained until you unsubscribe. Contact form messages are retained as long as reasonably needed to resolve your inquiry.
8. Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

We may update this policy as our practices evolve. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
