Our Commitment
Universalvani aims to make universalvani.org usable by as many people as possible, including people using assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, or browser zoom/high-contrast modes.
What We've Built In
- A "skip to content" link on every page for keyboard and screen-reader users.
- Semantic HTML headings and landmark structure (header, nav, main, footer) throughout the site.
- Text-based navigation and buttons with descriptive labels, not icon-only controls without alt text.
- A color palette chosen for reasonable contrast between text and background.
- Responsive layout that works across phone, tablet, and desktop screen sizes and zoom levels.
- Alt text on meaningful images (covers, feature images).
Known Limitations
We're an early-stage catalog and haven't yet completed a full formal accessibility audit (e.g. against WCAG 2.1 AA). If you encounter a barrier using our site with assistive technology, please tell us — we treat these reports seriously and will work to fix them.
